I've kind of been in hibernation for the last few months. I did make good use of the time. I took a trip to Panama and got married. When I got back into town, I my brother emailed me a surf video he found which features a couple of my songs. Check it out.
Also, I participated in February Album Writing Month (FAWM.) I didn't get all fourteen songs done. But i did get nine newsone and played a really fun show at Luna's in Sacramento with my friends Ryan Offield, Nate Beier, and Jackson Griffith.
I have booked a bunch of acoustic shows. Here's a list, more to come:
Mar.09.2010 09.00 PM Press Club - Sacramento - Earthquake Benefit Mar.12.2010 07.45 PM Red Victorian - San Francisco Apr.11.2010 08.00 PM Naked Lounge Downtown - Sacramento Apr.30.2010 09.00 PM Fox and Goose W/ Amee Chapman and Richard March
Take care,
Rich

I am participating in FAWM this year. For those unfamiliar, FAWN stands for February Album Writing Month. Basically, the goal is to write 14 songs in 28 days--an ambitious goal!
To help keep the motivation on track, I will be playing a FAWM Checkup show with Dana Gumbiner, Jackson Griffith, Nate Beier, and Ryan Offield at Luna's Saturday, February 20th. There is one thing I can guarantee; it will be a night of ALL BRAND NEW MUSIC!
The door will probably be a slide scale of $5-$10 and will go a soon to be named charity. More details to follow.

So lately I have been obsessing on the songs Scott Walker, Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, and Brother Danielson. Last month I was on Rhett Miller, Spoon, and Huey Lewis pop kick. I sometimes think my listen habits are like my eating habits. Sometimes I crave the things my body needs, like apple when I need fiber or tomatoes when I need vitamin C. I am not sure what my current music diet indicates, but my soul feels better for it. It has helped me to focus on the new recording.
Btw, the recording is officially “in-progress” with drums track already laid for three songs and three more to come hopefully next week. I plan to focus on finishing it in late October early November. More on that to come….
Also on September 25th, I am playing at the Fox and Goose in Sacramento with Ross Hammond. If you haven’t heard Ross, you should.
